Custom Tattoos
In Phoenix, AZ

Bring a reference, a photo, or nothing but an idea. Three resident artists draw the piece around your body, not around a catalogue.

How it works here

Drawn For You, Not Pulled Off A Wall

Flash is fine and we have plenty of it. But most of what leaves this shop starts as a conversation about what the piece is for, where it sits, and how it needs to age.

That means talking about placement before line weight. A design that reads beautifully on paper can turn to mush on a forearm at the wrong scale, and we would rather tell you that at the consult than halfway through the session.

  • Consults are free. Come in, talk it through, leave with a plan and a quote.
  • Deposits hold your slot. The deposit comes off the final price on the day.
  • Cover-ups get their own consult. Some old ink needs a laser session first, and we will say so.

Styles

What The Squad
Actually Tattoos

Realism tattoo sleeves featuring a lion and classical statue portraits

Realism

Portraits, animals and statuary built out of shading rather than outline. Plan for multiple sessions on anything above forearm size.

Traditional American tattoo sleeve with bold outlines and solid color

Traditional & Neo-Traditional

Heavy outline, solid fill, built to still read from across a room in twenty years. The safest bet for hands and fingers.

Black and gray tattoo panels of portraits, roses and mandala work

Black & Gray

Smooth gray wash and stipple shading. Ages well, hides less kindly than color if the aftercare slips.

Full color tattoo sleeve in reds, oranges and blues

Color

Saturated packing that stays bright with sunscreen and shade. We will be honest about which colors hold on your skin tone.

Cover-Ups

Old ink turned into something you want. Bring the existing piece in so we can see how dark and how deep it sits.

Fine line minimalist tattoos on wrist, ankle and collarbone placements

Fine Line & Minimalist

Small, quiet, single-needle work. Great for a first tattoo and the natural fit for the 2x2 tips deal.

The process

Consult To Healed,
Step By Step

  1. Free Consult

Bring references and tell us the placement. We check sizing against the body part and give you a real quote and a session estimate.

  2. Custom Drawing

Your artist draws the piece and sends or shows you the design. Changes happen here, before anything touches skin.

  3. The Session

Stencil goes on, you approve the placement in a mirror, then we work. Fresh needles out of a sealed pouch every time.

  4. Healing

Wrapped before you leave with written aftercare. Touch-ups on our own work are handled at the shop, so come back rather than guessing.

First tattoo? Eat beforehand, skip alcohol the night before, and wear something that gives easy access to the spot. Bring ID. Arizona requires you to be 18 for a tattoo.

Aftercare

Healing Ink In Arizona Heat

Phoenix is the hardest place in the country to heal a tattoo. Sun, chlorine and sweat all pull ink out of a fresh piece, and the first two weeks decide how the tattoo looks for the rest of your life.

  • Wash two or three times a day with a gentle unscented soap, then pat dry. Do not scrub and do not soak.
  • Moisturize thin and often. A heavy greasy layer traps heat. Nothing petroleum based.
  • No pools, no lakes, no long sweat sessions for two weeks. A shower is fine, a soak is not.
  • Keep it out of direct sun until it has finished peeling, then use sunscreen on it forever.

We stock Hustle Butter and Mad Rabbit at the counter, so you can walk out with the right product instead of guessing in a pharmacy aisle.

Tattoo Questions We Get Daily

How much is a tattoo going to cost?

It depends on size, placement, detail and how many sessions it needs. That is why the consult is free: you leave with an actual number instead of a guess. If you want to test the water, the Deal Or No Deal special lets you name your price and get a straight yes or no.

Do you take walk-ins?

Yes, when a chair is open. Small pieces are usually doable same day. Anything large or detailed needs a consult first so the artist has time to draw it. Call ahead if you are driving in from outside Phoenix.

Can you cover an old tattoo?

Often, yes. It comes down to how dark and how large the existing piece is. Some tattoos need one or two laser sessions to lighten them first, and we do that in-house. Bring the tattoo in and we will tell you honestly what is possible.

Do you do touch-ups?

On our own work, yes. Come back to the shop rather than trying to fix a patchy spot yourself. Touch-ups on tattoos done elsewhere are handled case by case.

How old do I have to be?

Eighteen, with valid photo ID, for any tattoo in Arizona. There is no parental consent route for tattooing here.
